Everything happens in your browser. No date leaves your device, no account is needed and nothing is saved: close the page and the result is gone. Enter the date you land in Jeddah or Madinah, not the date you leave home. On an overnight flight from Casablanca, those are often two different days.
How do I read the result?
The planner answers with a period, written as "between … and …". It is the stretch of days in which the application should be granted for your arrival date to work. Read it line by line.
- The first date is your arrival minus 30 days, because according to Gulf News an Umrah visa that is not used is cancelled after 30 days, so a grant before that point can lapse before you travel1.
- The second date is the earlier of two days: your arrival, or 9 March 2027, when the last Umrah visas of the 1448 season are issued2.
- The "today" line tells you whether your period has already opened, opens in a given number of days, or has closed for that arrival date.
- The hotel line is a reminder of the step that has to come first; it is explained below.
- The Ramadan line places your arrival before the month, on a given day of the month, in its last ten days, or after Eid, using the expected Umm al-Qura dates.
If the result says it is still too early, that is normal in the autumn. For a family landing in the first week of Ramadan, the period opens roughly a month before, in the winter. Nothing has to be filed today. What can be done today is the part that does not expire: agreeing on dates, choosing a hotel, booking the flights.
Treat the second date as an outer limit, not a target. The document has to be in hand before you board in Morocco, and the time needed to process an application is not published anywhere we could find. Aim for the middle of the period, and keep a few days in reserve at each end: the press report speaks both of "1 month" and of "30 days", according to Gulf News, without saying exactly how the days are counted1.
Which rules does the calculation use?
Three rules, and nothing else. The planner does not guess any date: every value it uses is listed below, copied from our facts register with its source.
Rule one: the one-month window. According to Gulf News, since around 1 November 2025 the Umrah visa must be used within 1 month of issuance, compared with 3 months before1. This is the rule that sets the start of your period. It comes from the Gulf press, not from an official text we could read, which is why it is marked "to be checked".
Rule two: the three closing dates. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah published the 1448 season calendar: last visa issuance on 9 March 2027, last entry on 23 March 2027, last departure on 7 April 20272. These dates are fixed in advance and do not depend on a moon sighting. They set the end of your period and the limits on arrival and return.
Rule three: the hotel comes first. According to Gulf Business and Khaleej Times, citing the Saudi ministry, an Umrah visa is issued only if the accommodation is registered on the Nusuk Masar platform, in a licensed hotel that confirms the booking electronically3. The planner cannot check your hotel. It reminds you that the booking has to exist, and be registered, before your period opens. The order of bookings, from the hotel to the paperwork, is set out in our booking timeline.
When one of these rules has not been re-checked in time, the result opens with a "to be checked" warning. Take it seriously: in that case, compare your dates with the full season table before you commit any money.
What if I land after the last entry date?
Then the trip does not fit this season: 15 Shawwal 1448, which is 23 March 2027, is the last day pilgrims can enter Saudi Arabia for Umrah2. The planner shows a refusal and does not calculate a period.
There are two realistic ways forward.
- Bring the arrival forward to 23 March 2027 at the latest, with the visa issued no later than 9 March 20272. Between those two dates no new document is issued, so a late-Ramadan or post-Eid trip has to be prepared during the month itself.
- Wait for the next season. Its calendar has not been published yet; we will add it to the table as soon as it is announced.
The return date is checked in the same way. If you enter one that falls after 7 April 2027, the planner flags it: that is the date by which every pilgrim of the season has to have left2. Compare it with the return on your flight ticket, not only with your hotel booking.
How does the planner place Ramadan?
It compares your arrival with the expected Umm al-Qura dates: 1 Ramadan 1448 on Monday 8 February 2027 and Eid al-Fitr on Tuesday 9 March 2027 in Saudi Arabia (estimate, subject to moon sighting)55. It then tells you whether you land before the month, around which day of it, in the last ten days, or after Eid.
Those two dates can still move by a day, and Morocco may begin the month on a different day from Saudi Arabia. In 2026, Morocco began Ramadan 1 day after Saudi Arabia, and the same gap in 2027 is not confirmed6. How each country fixes the first day is explained on our Ramadan dates page.
What does the planner not know?
It applies the general rules of the season to one date. It knows nothing about the person travelling, and some of the rules for this Ramadan have simply not been published yet.
Not announced yet
- Your own case. The planner does not know your nationality, your country of residence or the route your application takes; it applies the season's general rules only.
- Processing time. We found no reliable source that states how long an application takes. Leave a margin before the end of your period.
- How the month is counted. The press speaks of 1 month and of 30 days, according to Gulf News, without giving the exact starting point1.
- This Ramadan's rules on Nusuk. In March 2024, according to Aaj News, the Saudi ministry said it would issue only one Umrah permit per person during Ramadan; whether this applies to Ramadan 1448 is not known7. The planner leaves these rules out.
- The first day of Ramadan in Morocco. The Habous ministry announces it on the evening of 29 Shaban, after the crescent sighting8.
What should you do next?
Write down the period the planner gives you and keep it with your bookings. Before anyone files the application, check it once more against the season table, which we update on the day an official announcement changes a date.
